When complete, the Broad River Paddle Trail will feature a series of improved river access locations starting from the Lake Lure dam and south to the county line. Each access will include parking, signage, and a safe river access.

Project Status
The Tourism Development Authority and Rutherford County are working in partnership with the RHI Legacy Foundation, the NC Wildlife Resources Commission, and Duke Energy to develop two new access areas along the Broad River, where it intersects with US Highways 221 and 221A. Funding for both projects has been secured, and construction is nearing completion. Meanwhile, efforts continue to identify and secure additional access points along this exciting and adventure-filled waterway.
